Anyone know a decent drip tray supplier that won't charge an arm and a leg for shipping to RAK? (88 อ่าน)

I'm helping a buddy set up a small motorcycle repair shop in Ras Al Khaimah and we're trying to keep startup costs reasonable while still doing things properly. One thing we definitely need is something under each bike to catch oil drips, especially during services when filters come off. I've been looking for a drip tray 32 litres supplier in UAE that actually has stock and doesn't want a fortune for delivery up here. Found a few options online but some of the quotes I got were ridiculous. Crateco seems to have decent pricing on their site but I'm not sure how their delivery to RAK works or if they have a minimum order that would make it not worth it for just a couple of trays. Does anyone have recent experience ordering smaller quantities from them to the northern emirates? Also open to suggestions if there's a better local place I should check. The 600x600 size looks perfect for most street bikes but I'm wondering if the 120mm depth is enough to catch a full crankcase worth of oil if someone gets careless. That's probably a question for another thread though. Cheers.

Delivery quotes to the northern emirates swing wildly, so ask for a delivered price to RAK and not just the unit price. Also ask if there's a minimum order, since a couple of trays might not qualify for free delivery. Have you tried asking them to bundle it with anything else you need for the shop?

Sounds like a solid plan for a first shop, and keeping startup costs sensible is the right call. Trays are cheap, so shipping is where the money disappears. Hope your buddy's place gets off the ground smoothly.

Set up a small bike garage in Ajman a few years ago and ended up collecting from a supplier in Sharjah myself instead of paying delivery. Two trays fit in the back of a normal car, so it saved a decent amount. If someone's heading up to RAK anyway, that's worth a thought.

On the depth thing, 120mm over a 600x600 footprint is fine for filter drips and a bit of spill, but a full crankcase draining fast can splash past the edge. Most street bikes hold about 3 to 4 liters, so volume isn't the issue. Put the tray on a larger sheet or mat, and use a proper drain pan for the actual oil change.

Are you planning to keep these under each bike all day, or just during services? That changes how many you need. And have you thought about where used oil and soaked rags will go, since the workshop will need a collection arrangement for that anyway?
