I’m considering hiring a PI in the Philippines but want to be sure I’m not breaking any laws. Are private investigations fully legal there, especially for personal matters?

Yes, hiring a private investigator in the Philippines is legal, as long as the methods used comply with local laws. Investigators can gather information through surveillance, interviews, and public records, but illegal acts like phone tapping or unauthorized access to private data are strictly prohibited. To ensure everything is done properly, it's best to work with a licensed Philippines private investigator who understands the legal boundaries and operates ethically.

Thanks for the answer. I wonder if it is a personal matter, such as tracking a spouse's behavior, would it be illegal? Or are there any restrictions on the work of a PI?

Monitoring personal behavior, such as spouses, is possible, but it must not violate privacy beyond the scope, such as avoiding taking pictures or recording audio without permission, so as not to violate the law.
