Can someone explain how the weekly payment amount actually works? (4 อ่าน)

Okay so I'm trying to wrap my head around this and the paperwork I got is honestly not making things any clearer. I've been out of work for about six weeks now after I messed up my knee on a delivery route, and I've gotten a couple checks from the insurance company but they seem way lower than what I was expecting. I thought workers' comp was supposed to be two-thirds of your average weekly wage but when I do the math based on what I was making before the accident, the numbers aren't adding up. I called the adjuster to ask how they calculated it and she gave me this long explanation about gross versus net and something about a maximum rate that didn't really make sense to me. I've been trying to understand more about workers compensation benefits New Paltz NY specifically because I know different areas might have different caps and I just want to make sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to be getting. Is there a formula I can use to check if they're paying me correctly? Also does the fact that I was working some overtime before I got hurt count toward the average or do they just look at your base rate? I'm already stressing about bills and I don't want to find out later that they've been underpaying me this whole time.
