If you are grinding Festival Playlist objectives or just farming skill points, getting consistent Great Speed Skills in Forza Horizon 6 is mostly about using the right car. Some cars are built for insane highway speeds, while others are much better at carrying momentum through corners and speed zones.



After testing a lot of different setups, I found that the best cars usually fall into two groups:

High-downforce handling cars for curved roads and speed zones



The good news is that you do not necessarily need the most expensive hypercar in the game. A few tuned classics and Forza Edition cars can outperform almost everything else.



The Fastest Overall Car for Great Speed Skills



The absolute king right now is the 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Forza Edition.



With a full top-speed build, including a 2JZ engine swap, weight reduction, and longer gearing, this thing becomes completely ridiculous. Players have managed to push it to around 322 MPH, which is far beyond what most cars in the game can realistically handle.



Because the car reaches such absurd speeds, it triggers Great, Awesome, and Ultimate Speed Skills constantly on long straights. Once you get onto the highway, the skill chain almost builds itself.



What makes it even better is how accessible it is compared to some rare hypercars. You can unlock it through the Discover Japan milestone rewards using Master Explorer Tourist Stamps.



For pure skill farming, this is currently the easiest and fastest option in the game.



Best Top-Speed Cars for Highway Farming



These are the cars I recommend if your plan is simple: drive onto the main highway and keep chaining Speed Skills without slowing down.



1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Forza Edition



Still the best overall choice for raw speed skill farming. Once fully upgraded, it becomes almost unfair on long straights.



The acceleration is strong, the gearing works perfectly for highway runs, and the speed threshold is so high that Great Speed Skills trigger nonstop.



2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition (R35) Forza Edition



One thing I really like about this car is stability.



A lot of 300+ MPH cars become difficult to control once they hit top speed, especially on uneven roads. The GT-R FE stays planted and predictable, which makes it much easier to maintain long skill chains without crashing.



It is one of the safest picks for players who want speed without constantly fighting the car.



2021 Hennessey Venom F5



The Venom F5 is one of the best budget hypercars for speed farming.



It can hit roughly 306 MPH with the right setup, and it is significantly cheaper than some of the ultra-rare cars players chase in auctions.



For players who mostly stick to Autoshow purchases, this is probably the best value option for top-speed grinding.



2020 Koenigsegg Jesko



The Jesko continues to be one of the strongest speed-focused hypercars in the series.



It easily breaks 300 MPH and feels surprisingly controllable for a car with that much power. Even without heavy modifications, the stock performance is already elite.



If you want a hypercar that works for almost every speed-related challenge in the game, the Jesko is hard to beat.



Porsche #3 917 LH Forza Edition



This car is underrated for skill farming.



The top speed sits near 300 MPH, but the real advantage is acceleration. It gets back to speed incredibly quickly after collisions or missed turns.



That makes it excellent for recovering your skill chain if something goes wrong.



Best Cars for Speed Zones and Curved Roads



Straight-line speed is not everything in Forza Horizon 6. Some Festival Playlist tasks require maintaining speed through corners, especially in Speed Zones.



For those events, high downforce and grip matter much more than raw top speed.



2018 Ferrari FXX-K Evo



This is probably the best road-racing car for high-speed cornering.



The grip is incredible, especially through long sweeping bends where most hypercars start sliding wide. If your goal is maintaining skill chains through technical roads, the FXX-K Evo is one of the easiest cars to trust.



2022 Acura NSX Type S



The all-wheel-drive traction on this car makes it extremely forgiving.



Even if the road surface is uneven or wet, the NSX Type S keeps pulling forward without losing momentum. It is a great choice for players who prefer stable handling over extreme top speed.



1993 Nissan Skyline WTAC Extreme GTR



Built for time attack racing, this Skyline is perfect for narrower roads and technical sections.



The aero setup gives it massive cornering grip, which helps maintain Speed Skills even when the route gets tight and twisty.



Best Places to Farm Great Speed Skills



The easiest farming route is still the main highway.



Long straight sections give you enough room to stay above the speed threshold continuously without braking. Traffic can sometimes interrupt your chain, so it helps to use cars with strong stability and acceleration recovery.



For Speed Zones, mountain roads and coastal routes work better because they combine long corners with flowing elevation changes.



Simple Trick for Festival Playlist Challenges



If a Festival Playlist challenge asks for multiple Great Speed Skills, there is a very easy shortcut.



Avoid low-class online events like B-Class or C-Class races. Instead, wait for an S2-Class or X-Class road racing queue.



Once the race begins, use one of the hypercars above, hit a long straight, and you can usually complete the challenge within the first 30 seconds.



It is much faster than trying to grind skills in normal free roam traffic.
