To restore a corrupted JPG image, first create a backup copy of the corrupted image file in order not to harm the original. One can try opening the image file with another image viewer/editing application as some applications might read a slightly corrupt JPEG differently. In case the file opens only partially, try saving it into a new image file (JPEG or any other one supported). One can also try finding a copy of this file from backups or elsewhere if such a possibility exists. Do not modify the corrupted file further, as this could complicate the process of restoration.
