I started by just staring at the thing. Seriously. For a good hour, I just looked at it, considering if it was even worth the trouble. My wife walked by, gave it a skeptical look, and just said, “Good luck with that rust bucket.” That was my cue. I pulled it off the shelf, plugged it in. It groaned, whirred, and eventually spat out a login screen that took a full five minutes to appear. Nope, this wouldn’t do.

My first move was to pop the back cover open. I mean, what’s inside, right? I grabbed a small screwdriver and went to town. Unscrewed a bunch of tiny little things, carefully pried up the plastic. It felt like I was performing surgery on an alien. Inside, it was a graveyard of dust bunnies. Gross. I got out the compressed air can and just blasted everything. Dust flew everywhere. My wife was not amused by the cloud forming in the living room, but hey, gotta get it clean.
