As an Anastrozole Tablet, Altraz is a drug that is commonly given as an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase is an enzyme that changes androgens into oestrogen in women who have gone through menopause.

By stopping this enzyme from working, Altraz lowers oestrogen levels in the body by a large amount. Hormone receptor positive breast cancer cells get less activation when oestrogen levels go down. This slows or stops their growth.

Altraz is important because it is very accurate. In contrast to traditional chemotherapy, which targets all cells that divide quickly, Altraz targets the hormone system that promotes some types of breast cancer.
